Little Engines Physiotherapy is a mobile physiotherapy service for children and their families in Canberra.

The name “Little Engines Physiotherapy” was inspired by the story “The Little Engine That Could”. In this tale, a train must be pulled over a high mountain after its engine breaks down. Larger, stronger and older engines are asked to pull the train; for various reasons they refuse. Finally, a small engine agrees to try.  “I am not very big. I have never been over the mountain. But I think I can. I think I can”. She repeats this mantra as she puffs up the hill and succeeds in pulling the train over the mountain.

For many reasons, children can have difficulties reaching their gross motor milestones. At Little Engines Physiotherapy, “we think you can”!  Sometimes you just need a bit of help to get over that mountain.

About Us

Sarah completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Newcastle in 2007, and spent the early years of her physiotherapy career working in the hospital setting. She then moved into the far more colourful world of paediatric private practice, working in one of Sydney’s specialised multi-disciplinary clinics for over five years. Sarah was born and raised in Canberra and could no longer fight the pull of home, so has returned to her roots in the ACT.

Sarah is passionate about helping children of all ages meet their milestones and achieve their goals. She finds fulfillment in guiding and coaching parents through this process, whether this be short or long term. She is fascinated by the developing brain and body, and loves being able to share her knowledge and expertise to help parents understand their children’s development and how best they can help their kids.
